- ACSI will generate Performance-based Technical Specifications in the format promoted by the Construction Specifications Institute, assuring the Client of an economical high performance curtain wall system.
Develop Conceptual Design Detail
- Provide a technically correct customized curtain wall system defining design intent.
- Details show preferred profiles.
- Assist the Architect in preparing the Contract Documents.
Architectural Drawing Review
- Review the Architectural drawings to verify optimum performance of conceptual design.
- Review and comment on Architect's Tender and Contract Documents.
Review Bids for Technical Compliance and Performance Requirements
- Review and comment on the curtain wall tender and scope drawings for technical merit and performance.
- Review the bid proposals and schedules for completeness and logistics.
Value Engineering
- Review and compare cost performance options between curtain wall contractor's design and architect's wall design and specifications.
- Offer recommendations to reduce cost yet maintain the beauty and architectural features of the curtain wall.
Observation of Material Testing
- Review and comment on construction material submittals.
- Monitor test methods and procedures of the curtain wall system.
- Review and comment on stone test data, structural silicone and weather seal adhesion and compatibility testing.
Full Scale Mock-up Testing Review
- Observe, review and comment on the erection and testing of the curtain wall mock-ups.
- Verify the mock-up is representative of the wall system to be installed on site.
- Verify the mock-up meets or exceeds the specified performance criteria with regard to water and air infiltration, wind pressures, thermal performance and movement capabilities.
Shop Drawing and Calculation Review
- Review and comment on the curtain wall shop drawings and structural calculations.
- Verify proposed system meets the requirements of the Contract Documents, wind tunnel study and governing building codes.
Periodic Field Review of New Construction
- Provide periodic on site observations of system materials and installation to assure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Direct field water tests per AAMA 501.2 specifications after erection of a section of the curtain wall.
